Brevini high torque planetary gearboxes of the S series are the innovative proposal Brevini Riduttori offers the market, improving the performance and application characteristics that determined the big success of the previous Brevini high torque planetary gearboxes “PDL Series”, in production for about 30 years.
The “S Series” Brevini planetary gearboxes are the optimum proposal for all applications requiring high torque with minimum dimensions, on fixed industrial equipment and also self-propelled machines. This epicyclic solution is preferable to solutions with traditional gear units as it offers an improvement of 40- 60% in terms of space and weight.
The performance of Brevini high torque planetary gearboxes, harmonically developed in 8 sizes, is optimized in terms of life and quietness. With its many output versions, numerous input possibilities and all the accessories supplied, the “S Series” extends the application possibilities of Brevini epicyclic gear units to all industrial sectors.

New E series Brevini planetary gear units
Technological Excellence, Mechanical Efficiency, Operating Economies, Brevini Power Transmission industrial Expertise. These are the qualities of the new E series Brevini planetary gearboxes: the ideal solution for industry in the third millennium. In fact this innovative series of planetary gear units, perfect for industrial applications with intermediate powers and torques, is the Brevini Power Transmission answer to the needs of globalized customers who require more performance in compact and limited spaces.
The new E Series relaunches the concept of modularity, championed by Brevini for half a century, enhancing it with substantial technological innovations: overhung pins, reduction stages with four planetary gears, ground gears with optimized profile. Brevini Power Transmission has designed the sizes (and subdivided reduction ratios) following a scalar and coherent mathematical logic, to provide the best solution for the various application needs of Customers.
In detail, the E Series comprises 9 harmonically developed sizes, with torque from 1˙200 Nm to 26˙000 Nm. Available in in-line and right-angle execution, and up to 4 reduction stages (up to 6 stages on customer request). The reduction ratios cover a very wide range, from 1:3 to 1:3˙000 and over.
Brevini Industrial slewing drives
This wide range of Brevini planetary gear units is specifically designed for pinion and slewing ring drives. Successfully employed on tower cranes, shipboard and harbor cranes, wind generators and as steering drive on ship propulsion systems, they can be used in all applications where accurate positioning is called for.
These Brevini slewing drives are suitable for the most severe duties in every environment. The design of the planetary units optimizes torque performance and radial load capacity, in order to give perfect meshing between pinion and ring gear.
For accurate adjustment, some versions have eccentric mounting between the pinion axis and the casing axis. Their wide range of ratios enables the selection of motor size and type which best suits the customer’s requirements and application. Brevini is proud of its quality assurance policy, including the Type Approval Certificate from DNV.
Brevini planetary track drives
Brevini planetary track drives are designed for tracked vehicles and earth-moving machines. They have a heavy-duty casing, a short overall length, and great radial and axial load capacity.
Our gearboxes are provided with integral multidisc parking brake and have been designed for direct mounting of hydraulic plug-in motors. The careful choice of the materials and design allows our track drives, CTD and CTU, to be used in the most severe environmental working conditions.
Brevini planetary track drive units are the perfect solution for crawled undercarriages, drilling, crushing, screening and piling machines.
Brevini planetary wheel drives
Brevini planetary wheel drives are designed for self-propelled vehicles with hydraulic or electric motor. They are available in a wide range of ratios, allowing the power system to operate at optimum efficiency.
Whatever the type of machine is, up to 2.5 m of tire diameter and 50 tons each wheel, Brevini has a suitable solution to drive it. The versatility of this range of Brevini planetary wheel drives is assured by a wide choice of braking systems (drum brakes, disc brakes, negative acting multiple discs parking brake).
Thanks to the wide ratio range, there is a solution for any type of transmission and application. The manual declutch system can disengage the gear unit from the motor for emergency towing.
Brevini Helical & Bevel helical Gearboxes
This integrated line of Brevini helical and bevel helical gearboxes is made in Germany by the Brevini manufacturing unit PIV Drives. These gear units are produced with state of the art design, material, and manufacturing technologies for maximum power and reliability within a cost-effective package.

Brevini Lifting / Hoisting Gearboxes
Heavy lifting gearboxes, in which the cable drum and driving motor are arranged in parallel, require a step-down gear with a correspondingly large axle base.
The Brevini lifting gearboxes POSIRED N series are designed for this kind of hoisting applications, main hoist, boom hoist and trolley, and ideally bridge the given distance between the motor and cable drum. This PIV Drives series is based on our widespread experience in crane engineering, like: container and bridge cranes, winches and hoisting devices.

Brevini Long Travel Drives
This universal, compact and sturdy gear motor is based on a modular system, with high output torque and with a monobloc housing integrating a motor bell housing. A large number of variants are available for each size. The opportunity to mount brake motor makes this bevel helical gear motor most suited for traverse movements in cranes or other large mobile applications.

Brevini Twin Screw Extruder Drives
Highest torques, efficiency and reliability are the main characteristics of our POSITWIN series of Brevini twin screw extruder drives. This series reaches a torque factor up to 20 per shaft.
The case hardened gears are ground and optimized with a profile correction based on its bending and torsion load. The high gear contact ratio ensures a low noise level in these gearboxes.
Axial forces generated by the machine during extrusion are absorbed in the gear by tandem bearings and self-aligning roller thrust bearings. More than 7.000 Brevini PIV twin screw extruders have been produced since 1985 and prove their reliability and performance day by day, installed at the leading companies in the plastics, rubber, pharmaceutical and food industries.
Brevini Injection Molding Drives
The POSIRACK line of rack-and-pinion drives has been built by PIV Drives since 15 years for the mold locking in many electrical injection molding machines. Brevini Injection Molding Drives with highest accelerating and decelerating torques are quiet running spur gearboxes featuring a compact construction with an integrated motor. POSIRACK is a quiet running helical gear drive combined with spur gears and a dou-ble-toothed rack.
Case hardened and profile-correction ground gears and rack ensure that high acceleration and brake torques will be safely transmitted. Performance opimized gear tooth forms handle bending and torsional loads while achieving optimal noise behavior through a high contact ratio factor.
The sophisticated design ensures proper guidance of the rack within the gear unit. Optimized load sharing permits rack speeds up to 2000 mm/s. These high efficiency rack and pinion drives allow to reduce your cycle times and create higher output volumes.
Brevini Single Screw Extruder Drives
This reliable series of Brevini PIV gearboxes, with attached or integrated thrust bearing, can be supplied as bevel or helical gear. Brevini single screw extruder drives of the POSIREX series are completely made in Germany.
The modular design of this gearbox series is based on our range of helical and bevel helical gearboxes, plus appropriate thrust bearing-parts which are readily available. Mounting position horizontal or vertical, splash lubrication and cooling coil with or without injection lubrication are possible options.
This Brevini PIV series is based on our widespread experience in the plastics & rubber industry, with more than 20,000 drive units being produced in Germany and providing their reliability and performance day by day in extrusion, compounding and injection moulding machines.
Brevini Planetary Helical Posiplan
These POSIPLAN gear reducers, which are protected by a specific patent, feature a combination of planetary and helical gears that takes advantage of the strengths of each technology: compact size, high reliability and easy maintenance. The PH series of planetary helical gearboxes combines one slow helical stage with one or more planetary stages.
The design of these compact gear units is based upon precise analyses using FEM techniques, which means performance, duration and silence. These lighter, more compact gear reducers surpass traditional solutions, ensuring shorter production times and lower production costs.
Brevini Planetary Bevel Helical Posiplan
These compact Brevini shaft mounted gearboxes and POSIPLAN gear reducers feature a combination of planetary and bevel helical gears that takes advantage of the strengths of each technology: compact size, reliability and easy maintenance. The BPH series of right angle gearboxes combines one slow helical stage with a pair of Gleason bevel gears and one or more planetary stages.

Brevini Hoisting Winches
Specifically designed, these Brevini hoisting winches are able to satisfy the needs of OEMs that manufacture drilling machinery, earth-moving equipment, and stationary or truck cranes.
These new series of Brevini winches have been designed in conformity to FEM standards. Main characteristics of these winches are high performance and reduced dimensions, thanks to the Brevini planetary gearbox installed inside the drum.
They have a wide range of accessories available: grooved drum (standard or special), double drum, frameless winch, setup for drum rpm counter, rope winding control system, cable gland, special coating, and rope installation on the winch. These Brevini hoisting winches made by Brevini are sophisticated machines: products that ensure flexible operation, great reliability and safety, for both the standard and special versions.
Brevini Recovery Winches
New series of compact hydraulic winches. The Brevini recovery winches, ranging from 3,600 to 30,000 kg, have as a standard feature the integrated negative lamellar brake and a manual declutch system (hydraulic or pneumatic are also available on request). A hydraulic motor-driven unit with variable displacement can also be installed on larger versions.
The Brevini Winches product range uses planetary gear systems (speed reducers and torque multipliers), with hydraulically powered negative lamellar brakes, together with various types of hydraulic fluid drives, both the slow orbital system type and the fast axial piston type.
These drives, interlocked with valve systems to control speed and pressure, transform the Winches made by Brevini Winches into real machines: products that ensure flexible operation, great reliability and safety, for both the standard and special versions.
Brevini Winch Drives
These Brevini planetary gear units with rotating outer casing are designed to fit into the winch drum. The performance of both the PWD and SLW-SLC series has been rated in conformity with FEM M5 standards with an output speed of 15 rpm, the world standards on the market for self-propelled and onboard cranes.
Brevini winch drives are the ideal solution for all lifting applications: our planetary gear are especially designed for use as winch drives inside cable drums, available with hydraulic and electric motor adaptor. The SMW Series have a planetary pre-stage reduction gear on the input side.
They feature two close-mounted flanges, one of which is attached to the winch frame and the other of which is fixed to the cable drum, the drive housing therefore acts as the main drum mounting.
Brevini Parallel Shaft Helical Gearmotors
The special feature of those Brevini gearmotors is the parallel shaft, which provides mounting support and makes it easier to use. These types are manufactured as flange mounted, foot mounted, parallel shaft mounted or combination of these mounting possibilities.
The Brevini parallel shaft helical gearmotors are manufactured in a modular system. The output shaft and flange can be added to the standard parallel shaft gearbox without any change on the gearbox. The housing has mounting points on both sides, which allows mounting from both sides. The input side of parallel shaft gearboxes is flexible.
IEC B5 or B14, standard coupled or with solid input shaft gearboxes are available. The combination with other types of gearboxes can be made with a minimum change. In applications where efficiency and strength is very important, parallel shaft gearboxes are preferred to worm gearboxes. Parallel shaft gearboxes have also advantages in radial loads.
